Rain Secures $250M Series C to Accelerate Global Stablecoin Payments for Enterprises, Valuation Hits $1.95B | NEW YORK /via PR Newswire/ — Rain, an enterprise-focused infrastructure provider for stablecoin-powered payments, has raised $250 million in Series C funding as it moves to scale global, compliant digital payment rails for large businesses and platforms worldwide.
The round was led by ICONIQ, with participation from Sapphire Ventures, Dragonfly, Bessemer Venture Partners, Galaxy Ventures, FirstMark, Lightspeed, Norwest, and Endeavor Catalyst. The financing values Rain at $1.95 billion, lifting total capital raised to more than $338 million—a more than 17-fold valuation increase in just 10 months.
The latest raise follows Rain’s Series B by only four months and comes less than a year after its Series A, underscoring accelerating investor confidence in stablecoins as a core pillar of global payments infrastructure.
Stablecoins Move From Experiment to Enterprise Rail
Stablecoins have rapidly evolved beyond their origins in crypto trading to become one of the world’s fastest-growing value-transfer mechanisms. As enterprises increasingly explore tokenized money for settlements, payouts, and cross-border transactions, demand has surged for infrastructure that delivers blockchain efficiency while preserving familiar consumer payment experiences.
Rain’s platform is designed to bridge that gap—allowing enterprises to adopt onchain payment rails without disrupting how users pay, spend, and get paid.
“Stablecoins are becoming a foundational layer of how money moves globally, but widespread adoption depends on payments that feel seamless and reliable,” said Farooq Malik, CEO and Co-founder of Rain. “Over the past year, our active card base grew 30x and annualized payment volume increased 38x. This funding allows us to expand into new markets faster and help more enterprises launch and scale stablecoin-powered payments globally.”
End-to-End Infrastructure for Global Payments
Rain provides enterprises with a single, full-stack payments partner, enabling them to:
- Issue compliant stablecoin-linked cards accepted anywhere Visa is supported
- Convert fiat currencies to stablecoins
- Power secure digital wallets and rewards programs
- Facilitate domestic and cross-border payouts
The platform currently supports more than $3 billion in annualized transaction volume and serves over 200 partners, including Western Union, Nuvei, and KAST. Programs built on Rain’s infrastructure can reach over 2.5 billion consumers worldwide, supporting everything from everyday retail purchases to enterprise-scale expenses such as cloud computing and digital advertising.
Investor Confidence in Programmable Payments
ICONIQ Partner Kamran Zaki highlighted the strategic shift underway in global payments:
“We are seeing a transition from legacy financial rails to programmable digital-asset infrastructure. There is a narrow window to establish the platforms enterprises will rely on long term,” Zaki said. “Rain stands out for its combination of regulatory readiness, full-stack technology, and proven scale. Its focus on making tokenized money mainstream—not experimental—aligns closely with what large enterprises need as they move from pilots to production.”
Global Expansion Across Asia and Beyond
Rain plans to deploy the Series C capital to:
- Expand licensed operations across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa
- Strengthen its compliance and regulatory footprint in key markets
- Deepen platform capabilities through strategic acquisitions
- Invest in new products that make stablecoin-powered payments virtually invisible to end users
The company aims to support partners launching compliant solutions globally, particularly in high-growth regions where demand for faster, lower-cost cross-border payments continues to rise.
Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz served as legal advisor to Rain on the Series C transaction.
